The Third Church Food Cupboard is coming up bare – well, not quite – but they are running low on food and could really use our help. Decreased funds from FoodLink, grants, etc. coupled with the higher cost of basic items, means we do not have as much food to hand out as we would like to.
If you are able to add any/all of the following food items to your shopping list, and drop them off outside the church office, it would go a long way toward helping the church meet the hunger needs of people in the neighborhood.
- Peanut Butter
- Spaghetti Sauce – 24 oz (no glass please – Hunts comes in cans, but plastic is OK too)
- Toilet Paper (clients can’t by non-food items with food stamps)
- Fresh fruits and vegetables – potatoes, apples, oranges, etc. (Anything that will keep several days)
If all of us contributed just one or two items, it would mean so much to those in need.
Money donations are also appreciated if this is easier for you. Just put “Food Cupboard” on the menu line and drop the check at church.
(and don’t forget about the East Avenue Grocery Run – another great way to feed the hungry!)
Great post, Tracy. Remind me how folks access this blog. Thanks, Kay
